Soccer Update

Kaleb's team tied again last week 1-1.
That brings their record to 0 - 0 - 2 (wins-loses-ties)

Easter Egg hunt

Our family still participates in the commercial trappings of Easter. We try to reiterate the true importance of the day of resurrection in addition to allowing for a few indulgences.

The weather was nice and we hide eggs all over our backyard. The kids had a blast hunting and searching.

We only had a few minor set backs with tears when one child spotted an egg a second after another and one of them reached it first. But say-la-ve.

Easter Egg Preparation

We decorated eggs this year. What follows is the progression of our project. The Project begins...

The coloring process...

Stickers...Skyler is such an artist. In addition, we were able to use some of the stickers from one of the new books we are reading at bedtime...CAPTIAN UNDERPANTS; ohhhh the strains that we go thru to encourage reading!

The finished product.

Soccer

Well the fun has begun...we have entered the life of organized sports. Kaleb joined a local soccer league and is practicing twice a week. When they put in his paperwork they accidentally got his age wrong and he is playing on a team with older kids. He is the youngest but not the smallest; I think it will be good for him...

And of course when he signed up there is a shortage of coaches, so Shawn signed up to coach his team.

When I signed him up, I asked Skyler if she wanted to join...it as an infactic NO. But now that Kaleb is practicing of course she wants to play now! Since Shawn is coaching the team, we have allowed her to practice with the team...coaches prerogative. She is really cute and keeps up with the bigger kids

Their first game was today and it was a tie 0-0. I swear it was like watching a train wreck or some horrible disaster that you could do nothing about; but they have to start somewhere right?!

Morakot's Babyshower

For those of you out west, we had the pleasure of going to visit our favorite little Asian who is with child. She is such a cute pregnant lady and is alllll baby.

Skyler, Shawn and I drove 3 hours up to Maryland; unfortunately Kaleb was sick and stayed home with grandma, who was conveniently visiting from Colorado. There were dozens of people there to pay homage to this unborn miracle.

"Here she is Mrs. America...." with her favorite Irishman

Like I said in the card, Mari & James --> I think you guys are going to be wonderful parents and I wish you all the luck...because you are going to need it!!!!

Little Chef

Skyler is a wonderful helper in the kitchen. We recently we made Salisbury steak and Skyler had the pleasure of mixing up all of the ingredients in the bowl... what fun! Yes and we actually ate the stuff...oh by the way...we fed it to our friends Mari and James hee hee:-)
